Claudia's Age

Claudia’s apparent age in season 1 episode 4, “Claudia”, conflicts with her age in subsequent episodes. We know her age in the final episode of season 1 is stated to be 19. Furthermore, Artie refers to her as a “teenage girl” in season 2 episode 4. From this we would presume her age during the flashback events of “Claudia”, which occurred 12 years earlier, is about 7; however, this is contradicted during the episode. In one flashback Joshua states “Claudia here doesn’t get the concept of being ten.” If she were 10 then, her current age would be 22. In another scene Myka and Pete question Claudia’s landlord and it is stated Claudia lived there for four years. If we presume Claudia didn’t leave her foster home to live on her own until age 18, this would again make her current age about 22.
