BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-58625427 suggests 22, as do seemingly most modern sources. BBC also listed 22 names - is it possible that one of the injured died of their injuries (after the Herald article cited from Feb 1972)? It would be good to get a clearer number.
