Chinmayananda → Swami Chinmayananda — Relisted. --rgpk (comment) 17:28, 3 February 2011 (UTC) This would be in keeping with other articles on Hindu monks. The page Swami Chinmayananda already exists as a redirect, or I would have moved it myself.--Devadaru (talk) 13:17, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose' As I stated at Talk:Sivananda_Saraswati#Requested_move, Swami is an honorific title and honorifics aren't normally applied to names. The WP:NCIN guidelines, which applies direct to indic names, and MOS:HONORIFIC discourage the use of honorifics .--Labattblueboy (talk) 21:26, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose. We avoid using religious honorifics whenever possible because of unavoidable neutrality issues. In this case, as with most people titled "swami", the title is avoidable. — Gavia immer (talk) 04:58, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

diksha was in 1949. The Use of "Swami" in Article
"Swami" as an honorific title is used in other articles across Wikipedia. To prohibit its use in this article is unfair and unbalanced. It also reflects an ethnocentric viewpoint biased toward the Western perspective. Pope John Paul is listed as "Pope" John Paul in Wikipedia. "St." Francis of Assisi is listed as St. Francis of Assisi. When a significant portion of the population recognizes an honorific title, that title becomes relevant for public discourse and record.
