re MILHIST[edit]

what the actual name of the bases were is not clear in the article; a separate one may be required, as it sounds like Chilanko Forks was a residential area for military & families....maybe they mean Fort Chilcotin or the modern version of that which is, hm, not CFB Chilcotin i.e. not a "base" but a training camp. I think Ft Chilcotin was far from Chilanko Forks, though, which I think is further west...I'll compare the coords.Skookum1 (talk) 06:43, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, maybe not that far..... Chilanko Forks is at 52°07′00″N 124°04′00″W, Fort Chilcotin at 52°6′N 123°27′W.Skookum1 (talk) 06:46, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, Canadian Forces Camp Chilcotin is what I'm thinking of....but is it the same as the base mentioned near Chilanko Forks? 52°05′00″N 122°33′00″W ....not really.Skookum1 (talk) 11:59, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
hmmm I had a look at the BC Names link here and it says "Not official. Lookup the official name" - Secteur d'entrainement de Chilcotin. NB that's the registered name in an anglophone province with few French placesnames; that's the official name, I'm not "feeling" the move to it though.Skookum1 (talk) 12:30, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
