Inconsistencies

I read the article and it has a lot of date incosistencies. The first paragraph mention it being designed in 1968, while below it's first competition is stated as happening in 1967. Later a decade long career is mentioned, while at the same time it's mentioned as actively racing until 1986, could some one edit the article in order to actually make sense of the dates shown?
