Which Chelsea?

Could somebody confirm whether Joni Mitchell was specifically referring to the Hotel Chelsea, or to somewhere else she lived in the Chelsea neighborhood? Peter G Werner 01:01, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

She said her apt was on West 16th Street in the Chelsea District[1], and since Hotel Chelsea is at 222 West 23rd Street, she was not referring to Hotel Chelsea. Hyacinth (talk) 21:13, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Home for unwed mothers

This seems quite a romantic detail for a happy song described by Mitchell as "sweet", though this kind of juxtaposition seems like her. She doesn't mention it in a later interview discussing finding the glass in an alley in Philadelphia [2] so may we have a citation for this? Hyacinth (talk) 21:16, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Judy Collins photo

Why is there a photo of Judy Collins at the top of the article? Please don't say it's because she recorded it first. That doesn't make it a Judy Collins song and the article isn't about the Judy Collins version. It's Joni Michell song and her photo belongs there. Not to mention Joni's head would probably explode if she saw it this way. I'd change it myself by I don't know how to jump through all the fair use hoops. Jackhammer111 (talk) 17:30, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Super agree, this is entirely inappropriate. I don't know how to jump through all the hoops either, but I'm taking the Collins photo out. Don't revert me, just find the right photo. Tx 184.69.174.194 (talk) 02:43, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
PS: The Chelsea Hotel page lists Joni Mitchell as a resident. Do we have any factual sources about where the song is based?
