1900 Census records show a George W. Willis, occupation newspaper publisher, living in Brooklyn. Listed as Born in New York (parents also born NY) in July 1854, married for two years. Spouse Marie C., a much younger 24 years of age (born Sept 1875). born NY, parents born England. No children. Also living with them is mother-in-law Hannah Tousey.
1910 census shows George and Marie (still with Mother in law) at 191 Claremont Ave in Manhattan. Occupation newspaper publisher.
1920 census shows George and Marie still living in Manhattan (just the 2 of them), at 610 Riverside Drive. Occupation magazine publisher.
1925 New York State Census has George (age 71) (occupation publishing) and Marie (age 49), at Hamilton Hotel in Manhattan (30 Hamilton Place).
Mahin's Magazine [1] for December 1903 claims the "present owner" (no mention of Willis by name) of Cheerful Moments bought it a "few years ago" "when it had a circulation of 40,000 a copies a month, which has since been built up to over half a million copies an issue"
