Wichita Vortex[edit]

The literary concept of "Wichita Vortex"'s origin seems to have relevant ambiguity. Lee Streiff's version of the origin is just among of many theories cited. Pjt48 (talk) 15:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Ronnie Branaman[edit]

It could be interesting to identify Robert Ronnie Branaman who is named, but not linked in the article. See reference Robert Ronnie Branaman aka, "Barbital Bob" by Charley Plymell --Finn Bjørklid (talk) 00:55, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bob Branaman is a former Kansan who attended Wichita State University and soon migrated with other "Beat" artists, poets and playwrights, such as Michael McClure, to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1959. With many other similar artists, he exhibited at the famed Batman Gallery. Much as did Bruce Conner, another Wichita avant-garde luminary and contemporary, Branaman worked in a number of different forms, but particularly in graphic arts, including painting, drawing and printmaking, but also in film. He often incorporated mystical themes into his work. He was an early innovator in non-commercial, alternative comics and rock concert poster art. He was married to Susan Mack, who died young. They had three children and the lived in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury well before the arrival of the Hippies. They then moved south down California's Coast Highway One, first to Moss Beach, then Gorda, south of Big Sur and finally to Santa Monica where he lives today. He is the artist-in-residence and curator at the Beyond Baroque Gallery in Venice, California. Activist (talk) 18:20, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
