Untitled[edit]

I met Charles Lynch frequently in St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, towards the end of his life. He played on the miserable little upright piano in the psychiatry day room. Debussy, in particular. He was a gentle, melancholy soul. The obscurity and poverty in which he died seemed unjust, somehow.
