I'm having some trouble fiuring out the history of this.

  • 1918 ICC decision including history
  • 1976: lease continued by Conrail as the Rolling Mill Industrial Track, running on Capitol Avenue south of Union Station (property not transferred)
  • 1984-01-13: ICC rules that offer by N. K. Hurst Company and Rolling Mills, Inc. is bone fide and reasonable; Conrail had filed for abandonment
  • A November 1986 ZTS (zone track spot) map booklet (p. 24) shows it still there, as the Rolling Mill Lead
  • 1989-08-14: leases Kokomo-Marion from NS
  • 1991-12: Kokomo Rail Company (later Kokomo Grain Company?) acquires Marion-Amboy from CSX, with CERA operating

I have no idea if the companies are the same, and, if not, why the latter chose the name. --NE2 18:16, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And... it was a different company! " The above-referenced docket numbers have been changed to correct docketing errors that occurred at the time the proceedings were instituted. The AB-289 designation should not have been used in these cases because it is assigned to another railroad, namely Central Railroad Company of Indianapolis, Inc. (Emphasis added.) The similarity of the two carriers' names appears to have been the source of the docketing error. The AB-289 designation remains with Central Railroad Company of Indianapolis, Inc., and the AB-511 designation is assigned to Central Railroad Company of Indianapolis. Please correct your records in accordance with this Notice." That's pretty silly. --NE2 18:24, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
