leak[edit]

i am removing the following line from the entry.

"The album was leaked onto the internet March 28th, 2007 at 5:30 pm."

the album was not leaked, it was released two weeks early for pre-orders. i can verify this because i received the album today as well.

i am also going to remove the future album tag, seeing as how it is now released. i hope my edits are acceptable. 67.158.154.67 23:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree to that. The Saddle Creek online store says that the album is "now shipping" [1] -- memset 17:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should this earlier release date be added to the infobox? –Pomte 22:04, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
it's not technically an early release date, the album was always intended to ship two weeks early for pre-orders. it will still be sold in stores starting april 9th. also, i don't know how to do this but when you search "cassadaga" on wikipedia, it says "upcoming album by bright eyes". someone who knows how to fix that may want to do so, considering it's now being shipped [for pre-orders].67.158.154.67 22:46, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews[edit]

The 'Wireless Bollinger' review should be deleted. It is one of the worst reviews i have ever read, regardless of its positivity for the album. The Reviews column should be left for professional reviews and people with basic english skills... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.139.99.61 (talk) 16:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Removed. Thanks for actually reading through it to let us know. –Pomte 03:03, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea why there isn't some sort of formal treatise dealing with acceptable reviews because this is definitely a reoccuring problem with Wikipedia album articles. Is anyone aware of such a precedent? I checked out the music portal (and even left an inquiry on the noticeboard talk page), but turned up nothing. - C. M. Reed 02:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have proposed something like that at WT:ALBUM#Professional review sources. As a first step, I've started a list of review sources from which reviews should never be included, because they aren't "professional", at WP:ALBUM#Non-professional. --PEJL 08:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

I would like to disagree with the point in the "Trivia" section about the Russian text not making sense and being for decorative purposes only. This line of text was translated by a native Russian speaker from Bulgaria, and verified for accuracy by a second native Russian speaker. The english meaning is "draw another bloody bath", from the lyrics of the first track. However, if you rely on an online translation, you get the innacurate "pull other bloody bath" or some version of that. The original Russian is: тяните другую кровавую ванну. I'm the album designer and coordinated the translations.

Also, you may want to clarify that the error in title of "Brakeman" on the tracklisting appears only on the UK standard edition which was converted from the US version by Polydor. There is no tracklisting on the back of the US edition (or the UK deluxe/digipak edition, as far as I know).

Features/trivia and misprints[edit]

I disagree with pointing out the "breakman" typo under features because it's a mistake and not really one of the album's "features"; but as long as we're doing that: in the Four Winds lyrics (U.S. LP version, and also in the Four Winds CD liner notes) it says "pouring over Sanskrit" instead of poring. 67.168.191.3 06:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Emily[reply]

Article length[edit]

I hate how long the credits are for each track. Anyone else? Maybe just list a few for each track, and link to the rest offsite? —oac old american century talk @ 01:48, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-agreed. It seems completely unnecessary to me. We could get rid of it all and link it, if possible, or a compromise would be to add track titles to each name on the main personnel list to indicate which track they appear on. Oldy 20:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bright Eyes - Cassadaga.jpg[edit]

Image:Bright Eyes - Cassadaga.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
