COI Tag[edit]

Is this the appropriate venue to discuss the newly placed COI tag? My edits to this page have all been factual, neutral, and sourced. I do not have any of the listed COIs with this topic. What are the next steps to resolve this concern? Augusta397 (talk) 20:27, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You could make a post at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. I added the tag because you've exclusively edited articles related to Casey T. Arrowood. Moreover, these edits have all been to either add material promoting Arrowood or to removing material critical of Arrowood. I removed poorly sourced content from the article today, and you fairly immediately reinstated it without any discussion. Please see WP:SPA for more information. Thank you for the explanation. There has been no promotion of Arrowood by me on this page. Can you please cite to any edits that are not statements of plain fact? I am genuinely curious, as each of my edits have added sourced biographical facts to a government nominee page, such as military service and prosecutorial experience. I also take question with the claim that Department of Justice press releases are poor sources. Are government issuances considered poor sources across Wikipedia? I added explanation for the reinstatement of content when publishing the edits, and did not see a response on this question then. Thanks! Augusta397 (talk) 02:16, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Department of Justice is Arrowood's employer, so using DOJ press releases as sources about him is considered WP:ABOUTSELF. Marquardtika (talk) 20:51, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
