Talk:Buwch Frech

Nice to see this article here, but it needs renaming. The unmutated form is Buwch Frech ("Speckled Cow" or "A Speckled Cow"). Buwch is a feminine noun and the initial letter takes a soft mutation after the definite article. Thus fuwch frech never occurs on its own, e.g. in a dictionary heading or the start of a phrase or sentence, but only after y ("the"): Y Fuwch Frech ("The Speckled Cow"). I suggest changing it to either Buwch Frech or Y Fuwch Frech. If nobody has any objections I'll do so in the next few days and also get around to adding something (it's getting late now... ). Aargh, I meant to fix those, but forgot all about it. There are Wikipedia guidelines about when to include the in the title, if you want to try to make sense of them. What have you found to add? I spent quite a while looking for stuff to expand it (mostly because "godcow" was making me boggle and when I asked for more information about this, I got a fairly non-committal reply). Thanks for your input, Telsa. I suppose "Buwch Frech" is probably the best choice under the circumstances. I don't think the page is flooded with visitors and contibutors so I'm going to change it now. "Fuwch Frech" was just so annoying!

I've a few things that could be added. Firstly local references; secondly expanding the context - cows / goddesses / fertility, etc., all very symbolic and with paralells in Celtic and Indo-European mythology to boot. Trouble is I've got so many other things to do, mainly on the Welsh wikipedia - which really needs contributions of all sorts - also here where I tend to write on literature.
