Images[edit]

Well, plan is to probably add all images of every char, when this article gets too big, split it into smaller sections. (Chars), that's later things, for the next few days i'll work on getting SSs of Mita, Saruwatari, Hanabusa, and Kawazui, as well as Ginsei schoolmates, Hayasaka siblings and Gozen. But whoever has the other episodes, if possible, can these be uploaded:

  • Dr.Butterfly (Either of his in his lab coat, or his Wonderland outfit, maybe both)
  • Moon Face (It'll be more interesting if it's episodes 13's Satellite 30 scene)
  • Kinjou, Jinnai (Any will do, I plan to also upload the manga version of Jinnai, who has BLACK hair.)
  • Tai, Tsi (Not so important, maybe both in one shot)
  • Jinyou (No comments, one of him in radio room as his plans are thwarted by Rokumasu?)
  • Washio (Sadly, I don't have his 'semi human' episodes. where he's partially homun-fied.)

i'm also collecting info on the Radio and Novel, if I can, i'll get my hands on these to write about them.

Heavy edits[edit]

Added all of the Muto-assassination group members that are in the article with their buso renkin, will add the two girls later, and kakugane numbers once I get home and get my issues. I'll also add the leader of the Warriors as well as Victoria, and whoever wrote the Victor article, re-read issue 9. Geez. Victoria is Victor's daughter. With issue 6-10 I'm sure I can finish the second storyline characters...

Added all the characters from the Alchemy Warriors. including Busuzima, Chitose, Negoro, Inukai, Mayuyama, Ikusabe and Hiwatari, the idiot 6+1 gang (schoolmates) are also finished, as well as Areki and Victoria. now the only things that are left would be Papillon's Homunculus, and misc. members of the LXE. Expand[edit]

This article needs to be expanded badly. A good place to start would be to include descriptions of all of the major characters. Sigmasonic X 05:58, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been just rereading the manga lately, just how detailed should this get? Include everyone's busou renkin and various stats as are given in the manga, or just a short description of each character, or what? --ACDragonMaster 04:04, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You should detail as much as possible in my humble opinion. It's been a long time since I've read the manga and I would not like to reread it again just to remember all the details about the story and characters. Plus a lot of people use Wikipedia just to know ALL the story without reading the manga... Makoume 20:36, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, If I were to write up truly detailed info on all the characters, I'll probably start needing to branch them off onto their own pages. Not to mention Watsuki did nice little character stats pages for practically every character and busou renkin in the entire manga... Hm, I'll see what I can do, then, I guess. --ACDragonMaster 10:52, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'd worry more about cleaing up what's here than expanding it. The whole thing is pretty badly written, with grammar and spelling errors all through it.
Point. I'm starting to try to just organize the sections now, once that's no longer driving me insane I'll work on more specific stuff. --ACDragonMaster 01:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cancellation?[edit]

Was this really cancelled? Source: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=2000121&topic=30234612

Here is a simple copy and paste incase the topic gets deleted, it was about mangaka and fan outcry:

Nobuhiro Watsuki, author of Rurouni Kenshin, is the best example of the above that I can think of.

The fate of a certain character in Rurouni Kenshin was completely altered, due to public outcry.

However, his other series, Busou Renkin, ended up being ended prematurely/canceled because he chose not to change the fate of a certain character that time around.

It was cancelled, but was that really the reason? I don't recall seeing that mentioned in any of the fan communities of the series I know of. Just that it was cancelled, but Watsuki was allowed to write a few extra chapters to finish it in the tankoubon. (and which character? I can't think of what character fans would be that upset about, the way the ending did work out...) --ACDragonMaster 22:31, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The fate of that "certain character" in RK wasn't because of fan outcry, but because he was indecisive about the character's fate after the Kyoto arc, and his belief that shonen titles should end happily. That's what he said in his interview. And he didn't mention anything pertaining to a similar case in his Free Talk or any interviews. Only about other events that he wanted to include before Kazuki's return(and how he wanted to extend the Victor vs Kazuki battle).

Besides, Toriyama Akira is the best example of how fan outcry influence the longevity (and the character treatment) of a manga.71.242.96.251 (talk) 18:38, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Mic[reply]

Editing in progress...[edit]

I'm working on generally cleaning this thing up as much as possible, so expect frequent edits to show up from me. I'll also leave comments here on the talk page to elaborate on what I'm doing/why.

To start off with, I've reorganized the structure of some of the sections, and also deleted the portion in the plot summary relating to Victor, as it really makes no sense as it was it'd be easier to just write a new and more complete summary.

Oh, and anyone else can feel free to fix/add/whatever as you see fit, I'm just gonna keep editing stuff as ideas occur to me of what to do. --ACDragonMaster 01:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrote/cleaned up Kazuki, Tokiko, and Papillon's profiles, will try to fix up the rest that are already in the article before going back and expanding upon any. --ACDragonMaster 01:10, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Worked on Victor's profile a little, though i didn't really spoil much. kakugane means something along the lines of "metal nucleus" btw Kryss hon 16:22, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If nobody minds, I'll start getting screencaps for all the characters and their Buso Renkins.--Wolfwood 10:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)\[reply]

It'll be better if it were screencaps from the Manga version. I can help with that.

Trivia[edit]

Should it be mentioned that the lead male/female voice actors also happened to work together as the lead male/female in Tales of Destiny 2? Dunno if there are more like that or not. --Kajitani-Eizan 02:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you confirm it? Also, i'm considering to split the characters into seperate pages. Or at least, different character groups (Alchemy Warriors, LXE, Ginsei High, Papillon's homuculus) Also, I'm collecting and scanning manga panels of the characters, currently I have Kazuki, Tokiko, and Bravo's. i'm considering about adding mugshots to every character.

Discuss.

--Shimoji Kawazaki 06:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confirm it? Jun Fukuyama and Ryoka Yuzuki confirm it, at least. According to those pages, they played Kyle/Kazuki and Reala/Tokiko, respectively. --Kajitani-Eizan 09:43, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Period and After[edit]

What is Buso Renkin Period and Buso Renkin After? They are used several times in the characters page.

--iron2000 12:31, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That, iron2000, would be the final two chapters of Busou Renkin, Watsuki ended the manga on Shonen Jump! in Buso Renkin Final, but then he was allowed 2 more chapters the following issue and also on the 10th Tankobon. Period explains how Kazuki comes back, and After explains aftermaths of most characters.

Shimoji Kawazaki 17:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This needs to be explained somewhere in the article. Srsly. —Quasirandom (talk) 21:08, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair Use rationales for images[edit]

Almost all the images in this article have been (correctly) tagged as needing a fair use rationale. Rationales can be complicated, so as an example I added one for the image of Kazuki checking out his buso renkin. We'll need to go through all the other images and do the same. DenisMoskowitz 21:24, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And apparently no-one cares. Look forward to this article being entirely devoid of images within hours. (I've got too much work to do today to do it myself, though I think that ALL of these images are entirely within the bounds of fair use.) DenisMoskowitz 14:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the images, I was going to try to save them but I didn't have the time and a whole bunch of them were flagged at once, so I kind of gave up. Is there a way we could get an admin to undelete some of them? I know the character page definitely could use some of them, especially Kazuki and Papillon. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:25, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it in english?[edit]

Has the anime been released in English yet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.230.149.247 (talk) 03:56, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was only licensed recently, so it's not available yet. It'll be a few months, probably. DenisMoskowitz (talk) 21:20, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

English Cast?[edit]

Does anyone know the complete list of the English VA Cast? Also, I've heard somewhere that Yuri Lowenthal was hired to play Kazuki and Richard Epcar was hired to voice Bravo; is this real? Can anyone confirm any of this? Thanks.--Halls452 (talk) 19:03, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Buso Renkin ({{{type}}}) at Anime News Network's encyclopedia has Yuri Lowenthal and Richard Epcar listed as part of the English cast but doesn't say who they're playing. Richard Epcar's website says that he's playing a/the lead voice in Buso Renkin. Yuri Lowenthal's website mentions Buso Renkin as a show he voiced in. Other than that, I can't find anything official that says what roll they're playing. Unfortunately, ANN doesn't have very many English VAs listed yet and IMDb has almost nothing. I can't think of anywhere else to look for such things. I guess for now we'll just have to wait for the DVD to come out. --Eruhildo (talk) 00:25, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it looks like ANN revealed who'll play Kazuki in the English version. As for Richard Epcar casting: the only "lead roles" would be Kazuki, Gouta, Bravo, Papillon and maybe Victor. Kazuki, Gouta and Papillion, it appears is out of the question so he must be playing one (if not both) of these roles.) Guess we'll find out soon.--Halls452 (talk) 19:41, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article is in pretty good shape but there are still some minor issues to fix:

  • The production section should start with "Watsuki started writing Buso Renkin thinking it would be his last shōnen manga;" The current way of starting the section seems a bit random.
  • Linking in references is a bit inconsistent. Try to have all link or all unlinked due to UNDUE WEIGHT.
  • Maybe some major focus could be given to the manga. Have for manga out of the media section. Change the media section to "related media" to make it clear this article primarily focuses on the manga. Manga and production could be written under a section named publication. This is just a suggestion based on previous arguments within the project.
  • The lead's first paragraph could have a reference to production about how it was Watsuki's last shonen or something like that.

Anyway, nice work in the article guys. Good work.Tintor2 (talk) 16:32, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Tintor2, thanks for the review! I've rewritten the production and added a bit of it to the lead. About the linking, I've planned to link the names in the first instance it appeared. (When you reviewed it wasn't that way; I guess I've fixed it now). The only thing I don't applied was your third suggestion. I like both formatting; however, even if discussions were done, no alteration was done in the MOS:AM (one of our best articles [FA] still using this format School Rumble). If an official alteration is made, I'll not oppose to it, though. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 18:24, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Let's do it.Tintor2 (talk) 21:30, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
