moved this picture to the talk page as was done on other juggling pattern pages. Sbacle 14:48, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overall quality is pretty low[edit]

This doesn't have an encyclopedic tone, and many of these things are not cited. I am borderline on whether the article should even continue to exist, as it feels a bit crufty, and could very easily be merged into Juggling pattern. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 16:17, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Juggling is also an art which entails freedom of interpretation (of patterns and siteswaps) and by their complexity movements are by nature hard to scientifically define. What seems "non-encyclopedic" or "crufty" can be well understood when delving into the matter e.g. a statement like: "It is popular among jugglers for its impressive arm moves, but not considered difficult to master compared to more complex patterns like Rubenstein's Revenge, for example.[2]." is thoroughly evident to jugglers and carries truth even if it sounds like personal opinion. Such talk about artforms is encountered also in other artforms e.g. B-Boying, dance, music. Science and utter encyclopedic speech (well-defined, scientific speech or formalisms) on such topics are not common or at least not their main aspect. And there is highly scientific aspects in juggling like siteswaps and the physics of juggling. And the pattern Burke's Barrage is pretty much well-defined enough to be clearly distinguished. --217.84.92.222 (talk) 15:06, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I know what the article means - I can juggle the pattern easily - though Wikipedia should be written in such a way that a lay person can understand it anyway. It's just something that doesn't seem particularly well-suited for Wikipedia. A lot of this crufty content that was acceptable in the early days of Wikipedia has since been moved out to Wikias which can give them in some ways a better treatment without Wikipedia's strict editorial, sourcing and content licensing standards. See, e.g. Burke's Barrage on Juggle Wikia. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 22:43, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
