Brit Award for British Video of the Year[edit]

Some artists in the list for the Brit Award for British Video of the Year are not British. On the main page for Brit Award for British Video of the Year, it says in the description and I quote, The Brit Award for British Video of the Year was an award given by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), an organisation which represents record companies and artists in the United Kingdom. And some of the artists like Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Four Tops, Guns N' Roses, Janet Jackson, Kaoma, Neneh Cherry, Salif Keita and Prince are not from the United Kingdom and therefore, they shouldn't be in the list for Brit Award for British Video of the Year. 82.19.40.217 (talk) 15:36, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is your personal opinion. If you were correct, then those artists wouldn't have been nominated for anything. A type of cabinet (talk) 15:40, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Er, it's not an opinion the list says Brit Award for "British" Video of the Year, Not Brit Award for American, or French or Swedish. 82.19.40.217 (talk) 15:42, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Explain why they were nominated. A type of cabinet (talk) 15:44, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's not the point, the point is those artists that I mentioned are NOT British, and that they should NOT be in the list, which part of that don't you understand. Why is it that everytime I try to improve a page, people have to undo and ruin my good work? 82.19.40.217 (talk) 15:45, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because you are removing valid information on the grounds of "I don't like it." A type of cabinet (talk) 15:50, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's not true, I'm removing it for a good reason, the Brit Award for "British" Video of the Year should be for British artists only, Not artists from abroad. 82.19.40.217 (talk) 15:51, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you provide evidence that supports this change? A type of cabinet (talk) 15:58, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How many more times, that is not the point, the point is that Artists from abroad should not be in the category for the Brit Award for "British" Video of the Year. 82.19.40.217 (talk) 16:16, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There are multiple sources that show that those artists mentioned are part of the category. Also, declaring that the artists are "not British" is just an opinion you are stating, but doesn't change the fact that the information is valid. This debate seems more like WP:IDLI. It's not an opinion. Those artist should NOT, be in the Brit Award for British Video of the Year. 82.19.40.217 (talk) 14:37, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those artist should NOT, be in the Brit Award for British Video of the Year. Once again, that is your personal opinion. There are sources that show they were part of the awards, yet you are choosing to ignore that fact. HorrorLover555 (talk) 11:15, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps this is a topic that you feel to strongly about and are unable to contribute in a neutral way. Maybe you would find it easier to edit articles in a different topic area. A type of cabinet (talk) 16:19, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The actual issue is that the Award is mislabeled on Wikipedia. Perhaps it started off as Best British Video, but in the clips I've seen for 1989 and 1990 at least, it's just called Best Video. Evidently at some point they decided to just have the one award for both British and international artists. AcerBen 21:19, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
