Article Neutrality[edit]

This article sounds like it was written by someone trying to promote Bitcoin Unlimited. While some facts may be correct, there are many opinions interjected into the article. For example:

1) "Bitcoin Unlimited seeks to democratize the software development process."

2) "... to the apparent opposition of Peter Todd and Luke-Jr."

3) "Some of these developers have even suggested that the current transaction capacity should be reduced by 70% despite transaction backlogs of almost $1 billion."

4) "According to game theory the scalability solution will be found at a focal point?" Mkwia (talk) 20:19, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

miners vs. users[edit]

I don't know why Ladislav Mecir keeps claiming that users signal the block size. Signalling is done via block generation. So only miners are able to signal. Claiming that users are involved gives a false impression that normal users can take part in the process. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arcadius Romanus (talkcontribs) 21:24, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The cited source claims that the users can signal the block size. Wikipedia is based on citations of independent sources, your opinion is irrelevant. Ladislav Mecir (talk) 21:34, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If the independent source does not suffice, and you want to do your own research, you can also run the software. It is free. That way you can find out for yourself that you can both signal, and examine what your peers signal. Hope that helps. Ladislav Mecir (talk) 09:30, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Related article[edit]

Hello, we have been working on a related article Bitcoin scalability problem. This article might eventually be an article to cover the history of the debate. More eyes are welcome. The article needs a lot of work, maybe people here are willing to help. Jtbobwaysf (talk) 18:15, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Luke-jr quote[edit]

I see Retimuko removed my reference to Reddit for the "amount to approximately 750k/block average" quote from Luke-jr. (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bitcoin_Unlimited&diff=901564330&oldid=901553873) As far as I can find, this Reddit post *is* the actual origin of the quote. Luke-jr's writings should be the best possible source for what Luke-jr has written. If this source is deemed insufficient, then the quote should probably be removed.

If there are no other problems with my revision I'll redo the other changes I made.

I would say that if something is not mentioned in secondary sources then it is not notable enough to be in encyclopedia. I would even say that the subject of the article is hardly notable. Retimuko (talk) 19:35, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
: Thanks. I agree the quote lacks notability/relevance and removed it, and reapplied my other changes. BigBlockIfTrue (talk) 19:50, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
