Tim Armstrong and Why Do You Want Him info incorrect

"In April 2011 via Twitter he confirmed he is related to Tim Armstrong of Rancid"

Um, LOL! He was clearly joking with that tweet. He's said many many many times that they're not related. The tweet was a joke, he was teasing all the foolish people who still think they're related and providing a laugh for all the people who know they're not. This false info should be removed.

Also Billie has never said that Why Do Do Want Him? is about his stepfather. He has, however, specifically said that it's *not* about his stepfather when he was asked if it was. I don't know enough about this place to edit an article lol, any chance of someone removing the Why Do You Want him thing from the Early Life section? Inconsistency

If you haven't heard already, he shouted at a concert last year that he hoped Steve Jobs would die of Cancer soon. The video is being removed so it is up to Wikipedia and Free Speech to make sure that they don't remove all traces of what he said. Incorrect information

It has come to my attention that there is some incorrent information on here, such as, it says his father died on September 10, 1981, when he was 10 years old, the year he died should be changed to 1982, it also states on here that he was 12 when he met Mike Dirnt, but if you watch interviews with them they say that they met each other at 10 years old, and it's says that the demo tape they recorded with Sean Hughes was featured at the end of Green Day's Kerplunk!, this is not true, what's featured and the end of Kerplunk! is their Sweet Children EP from 1990, Sean Hughes left Green Day in 1988, so that is not true, this should be changed too. --Chickenguy12 (talk) 05:36, 31 July 2010

His father died on the 16th of September 1982 according to a picture on Billie Joe's Instagram account.


9/26/12: Please change the misleading part about the band saying their performance in Las Vegas was not cut short. The band's statement only says that CLEAR CHANNEL did not cut them short, it did not say they were not cut short.

Incorrect info about pickups

It claims under the portion about his guitars that his Bill Lawrence pickup in "Blue" was destroyed at Woodstock '94 and was then swapped out for a JB Model. Footage of Woodstock '94 clearly shows, however, that "Blue" was fitted with an unidentified white humbucker at the time of the performance, and not the black Bill Lawrence dimebucker he had used in the band's early days. Additionally, this pickup was not destroyed as a result of the mud-fight, and Armstrong used it for a few months before switching to an SH-4.

Billie Joe picture in Instruments section.

Is it possible to change the picture or add another picture with actual blue? The guitar in the picture is Azul not a copy of Blue. Preceding unsigned

I just now noticed the difference and looked into it. The pic from 2009 seems to show the original "Blue" Fernandes Stratocaster (note the smudgy fretboard!). The pic from 2010 shows a far less "road worn" replica of unknown origin, since there's no visible company markings.93.200.9.93 (talk) 11:13, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

The amount of instruments listed as being notable is absolutely absurd. First, he's arguably not that young; besides, his age is stated in the introduction to the article. Good looking is far too much of an opinion to be included; the article needs to stay to items from neutral point of view. Honorary "Italian" citizenship

I removed the honorary Italian citizenship from the infobox. The source and the certificate in the image show that this was not honorary citizenship of the Italian Republic but of one town, similar to the concept of Freedom of the City in the UK and Key to the City in the US. Also the certificate shows that the power has been exercised by the town council, while matters of nationality are reserved to the Ministry of the Interior.

In the same edit, the categories regarding Armstrong's non-Italian heritage has been removed as it is not sourced on the page, nor WP:CATDEF proof that they are relevant, not just "true". Unknown Temptation (talk) 15:25, 27 June 2022 (UTC)
