There are errors in the section: "Jack Kerouac's Visions of Cody"

"In Jack Kerouac's Visions of Cody, the character "Bill Finistra" is based on Cannastra in which "Finistra" is a poet who is friends with Jack Duluoz and travels with him from New York City to San Francisco in 1948 so they can visit a Beat Generation friend named "Cody Pomeroy" who is based on Neal Cassady. "Finistra" is one of the very important supporting characters throughout the novel."

Although the character Finistra (the name Bill does not appear) was based on Cannastra, he is far from a major character in the book and does not travel from New York to San Francisco with Jack Duluoz in 1948. The action in the book takes place between late 1951 and spring 1952, with Duluoz arriving at the Pomeroy house in December 1951. Cannastra died October 12, 1950. His "appearance" in the novel is mainly in transcribed discussions between Duluoz and Pomeroy. Pitoucat (talk) 23:50, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

More errors in "Life" section

"Ellis Amburn describes an incident where Bill Cannastra challenged Jack Kerouac to a nude race around the block (Kerouac refused to remove his underwear) [6]. Amburn goes on to say:

Kerouac told Al Aronowitz of the New York Post that he had group sex with Cannastra, and he admitted to Paris Review interviewers that he had sex "on a lot of couches with young men." ... In describing their sexual romps to the Paris Review, Kerouac added, "Auden would come the next day, the next afternoon, for cocktails. Maybe with Chester Kallman. Tennessee Williams."

The error is in using Amburn's flawed book as a reference source. Amburn's quotes cannot be substantiated. The complete Kerouac interview conducted by Al Aronowitz can be found here:

Nowhere does Kerouac say he had group sex with Cannastra.

Kerouac does not mention anyone having sex on couches with young men. The quote about Auden is taken completely out of context.Pitoucat (talk) 23:54, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
