two versions[edit]

does anyone know anything about there being two versions of this film? was there an english production of it and an indian version? Keltik31 20:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article seems to be more about the movie than about the book[edit]

The many references to the movie should be transferred to that article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.8.53 (talk) 00:36, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two conflicting accounts of which town provides the model for Bhowani Junction[edit]

The present article states that the town of Bhowani Junction is based on Bhusawal. The WP article on Nightrunners of Bengal opts for "about the same location as the real city of Jhansi". Can anyone sort this one out? (I have myself no "dog in this fight"). Nandt1 (talk) 21:02, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see that someone has added a couple of citations to support the Jhansi identification at the Nightrunners article, though they are beyond my ability to check. Anyone have any backup for Bhusawal? Nandt1 (talk) 01:44, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In the glossary for at least the earlier editions of his book "Nightrunners of Bengal" John Masters made the following entry:
Bhowani (B'wahny), imaginary town. To get a geographical bearing on the story it should be imagined to be about where Jhansi really is - 25.27 N., 78.33 E.
