About Leonese use[edit]

I was born, and have lived in Bembibre and some other surrounding towns for the most part of my life, and I've never heard anyone speaking Leonese here, not even the elderly people from rural areas. These ones do include in their vocabulary some particular words which may be of Leonese, Galician or mixed origin (I'm no linguist, sorry), but what they speak is Spanish. Leonese may have been spoken in the past, but not anymore since, at least, the early 80s.

Being strict, Galician, Portuguese, what I pressume might be Urdu, etcetera are spoken in addition to Spanish, specially as the result of the immigration of people who came to work in the mines.

I don't understand the insistance on repeatedly stating a fact which has already been refuted by several people.88.15.28.23 (talk) 03:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Ithil[reply]
