I'll try to have a review up today, but I'll be camping all weekend and won't be able to respond to replies until Monday. Thanks, liquidlucktalk 02:24, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right, here's a start (not yet complete, I'll finish and respond to questions when I get back). liquidlucktalk 07:20, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and feel free to argue any of the points! liquidlucktalk 17:15, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

*...with Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Terius "The-Dream" Nash who worked with Bieber on "One Time" and also by... Did both Stewart and Nash co-write "One Time"? If so, this should be ...with Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Terius "The-Dream" Nash, both of whom worked with Bieber on "One Time", and also by.... But really, working with Bieber on one time is more appropriate for background than the lead (and needs a cite!).  Done
  • Wikilink R&B in the lead.  Done
  • Last two sentences in composition need citations.  Done
  • "The song is predominatly upbeat, featuring Bieber’s R&B vocals over a dance beat, full of keyboard and "disco string" synths." makes it appear as though Bieber's vocals are full of keyboard and synths. Please rephrase.  Done
  • "According to Rolling Stone,"... should be (Reviewer) of Rolling Stone said... to flow with the "comparing" clause at the end of the sentence.  Done
  • "Ludacris comes in with the verse-rap, an anecdote of young love when he was thirteen," -> "Ludacris enters after the second verse, verse-rapping an anecdote about young love." (assuming verse-rapping is a word, I'm not sure if it is. Let me know if it isn't.) Choose either "his first experience with love at age thirteen" (or something similar) or simply "young love".
  • Avoid using copy-righted lyrics without analysis; for example, it is unnecessary to recount Ludacris's rap. Analysis obviously must come from critics, so if a critic commented on the rap, add that. The use of Bieber's lyrics would be good if the reviewer/article explained how they resemble 50s music.
Just a note, the music lyrics comes from the quote from the critic, we just didn't stick them in there to have lyrics. Candyo32 (talk) 13:46, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(Just about to leave) I'm sure you didn't, you're both great and knowledgeable editors. Having part of the lyrics seems fine, but perhaps cut off at "had me going crazy" or "starstruck". Having reread, the use of Bieber's lyrics looks good. liquidlucktalk 17:15, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • An entire paragraph is far too much to dedicate to Bill Lamb, who isn't even a top music critic like Robert Christgau. Please shorten it to two to three sentences at max.  Done
I have added Digital Spy Review to that paragraph, the paragraph itself was well written so i didnt shorten it, ive just made it so it isnt a stand alone paragraph now. (CK)Lakeshadetalk2me 21:20, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Considering Baby was such an international hit, it would be nice if the article contained some reviews from non-US critics. Canada will have some, the UK will have some---just use a google site search. I'll hold off on grammar in this section for now in case more reviews are added.  Done
This article has been on review for 32 days now. Could the review be sped up so all concerns can be met? warrior4321 18:06, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As warrior said, is this review going to be finished or not? Wizardman Operation Big Bear 18:42, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Continued[edit]

I will continue the review of the article, seeing as the previous reviewer has stopped. Adabow (talk · contribs) 10:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • lead: mall 'and bowling-alley setting
  • In July 2010, the video became most viewed video in YouTube history "the most viewed"?
 Done
  • File:Baby.ogg is far too long (36s). Per WP:SAMPLE, non-free audio recordings should be less than 10% of the original recording, up to 30 seconds. Please trim to less than 21.6s.
 Done - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:19, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You have only reduced the sample to 26 seconds - it needs to be 21s or less. Also the quality of the sample is too high. Adabow (talk · contribs) 01:00, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for trimming it, but the quality needs to be reduced to about 65kbps. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:04, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 'Chart performance' section: this needs a pretty decent copy-edit. An example: "Baby" was beaten out as the weeks highest debut by Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale" which debuted at number two. beaten out? weeks highest? Maybe "Baby" was beaten as the week's highest debut by Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale", which debuted at number two. "beaten as" still sounds iffy, maybe a total restructure of this sentence.....anyway, have a read over the section for tone, spelling, grammar, et cetera
    • Justin Bieber should be referred to here by his surname, not his given name
  • 'Music video' section Singer/actress Jasmine Villegas portrays Bieber's love interest in the video. Bieber's friends, Young Money artists Canadian rapper Drake, and Lil Twist also appeared in the video, alongside Tinashe Kachingwe and jerkin' crew, The Ranger$Singer and actress Jasmine Villegas portrays Bieber's love interest in the video. Bieber's friends, Young Money artists Drake and Lil Twist also appeared in the video, along with Tinashe Kachingwe and jerkin' crew The Rangers.
Fix  Done
  • The claim about Drake and Lil Twist being Bieber's friends seems like OR
Added sources,  Done
  • Also wikify MTV
 Done
  • Again, the most watched video...
 Done
  • 'Live performances' section: are there any photos available?
  • During most live performances of the song, Bieber jerks during the end of the chorus - needs a source
 Done
  • Charts - looks good, but are there no other certs? With high chartings in some countries, the song may have received certifications there, too (apologies if you have already looked into this)
Already looked into it, hasn't been certified a lot...dont know why. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me -
  • 'Release history': seems quite short. Surely references for other release can be found easily?
Most were removed and just added as a purchasable song from the album, I don't believe there are anymore available. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me -
  • References: run through them all; I have seen at least one without and accessdate, and several from the iTunes Store formatted in different ways. Likewise with Billboard sources.  Done
Ive gone through each one and fixed them. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me -

I will put the review on hold now... Adabow (talk · contribs) 11:17, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the improvements. I will now pass the article. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:38, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
