Wow, NicM, you beat me to it. This was my first article and after mulling over the tone I was going to come back to tidy it up. I'm a little concerned too much was taken out; there's a lot of confusion about the difference between PAM and BSD Auth (...if you've ever read the NetBSD mailing-list during their debates, prior to adopting PAM). Granted, my original work wasn't as balanced as it could be, you actually took out the very important bit that PAM could just as well implement privilege separation, but almost never does. Or maybe Wikipedia isn't the place for such fine technical points. I guess I'll sit back and see where the community takes the article. --Wahern 07:34, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was a good article, I mostly focused on compacting it a bit and making the language a bit more simple. Anyway, after about 10 attempts I've added back some stuff abaout PAM's method in a hopefully NPOV way. NicM 08:15, 29 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]
