Inaccurate[edit]

Check it out using the google satellite maps. If you're in Morninside Park and looking WEST, you still see the Cathedral, which has Gabriel on top. You have to look SOUTH (Manhattan-grid south, that is) to see this Avalon building. Those sight-lines simply DO NOT line up in the way that this article describes. Also use of the language "completely dominates" isn't encyclopedic. Some editor obviously has an opinion about this building being where it is and being what it is. I might or might not agree with that opinion. But it shouldn't be here unless we have surveying-schools that teach how to use theodolites, trigonometry, and graph-paper to ascertain which landmark "completely dominates" some other landmark or some vista, under some formal and exacting technical description of "completely dominating". There's not such thing. It's a subjective impression without mathematical rigor behind it.2604:2000:C6AA:B400:3182:768A:DE4E:EC2 (talk) 07:31, 25 June 2015 (UTC)Christopher L. Simpson[reply]
