Finals Voting[edit]

I'm copying and pasting the voting descriptions from last season's Top 12, but since I haven't caught-up just yet, I wanted to inquire about something. It's quite confusing for a casual reader/browser to make sense of it. Before I do, also just making sure: Judges' Vote = immune from the vote that week, since they get a free pass into next week, correct?

And then as far as the Bottom 4 goes, I see this differs from last season by the pairing...I think? This season, it looks as if these head-to-head battles work like a sing-off à la The X Factor, per the judges' decision; some sort of live vote, like the #TwitterSave from The Voice, or what?

I think it'd be helpful to clarify whether these extra songs are competitive, or are merely just bonus performances so that the Bottom 4 have a chance to showcase themselves once more—for 2, too little, too late. But for 2 others, a shot at redemption. Or however more encyclopedically to phrase it, of course.

And thus, that the pairings themselves, this season, are separating them so that only the lowest-voted out of that pair can go home, even if let's say Pair 1 (A + B) each had more votes than Pair 2 (C + D); but if one per pair had to be eliminated, it alters the schematics by forcing B to leave, despite C having less overall votes. (This is what I'm deriving from the Grand Finale pairing explanation. Is this accurate? It would be WP:OR to suggest it was to yield a desired result, but not OR just to say pairs might not ensure the lowest votes necessarily go home.)

Thanks in advance! Pardon the burden. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 09:51, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
