Speedy Deletion discussion[edit]

No way is this is speedy. Speedy (by my reading of the criteria) is for bands that would obviously not pass AfD. Not only would this band not obviously fail an AfD, it would probably pass, based on WP:MUSIC: they have played overseas twice (once New Zealand, once wherever the World Battle of the Bands final was held.) In addition they were in a finalist in what seems to be a fairly-big-deal music competition, have recieved favorable if short notices in the Hong Kong entertainment press, have been together for ten years, and seem to be a reasonablt important player on the Hong Kong scene. OK, they might fail an AfD -- although they would get my vote -- but that doesn't make them a speedy. (PS I did not re-create a deleted article per se. I was already editing it when it was deleted.) My opinion is if Indie Rock was considered mainstream in the Hong Kong music then Audiotraffic would have already made it to be a high-profile band. Unfortunately though, the massive popularity of Canto-Pop in HK has killed off most of the other genres, and considering even the likes of Coldplay, Oasis and GorillaZ can't crack the HK mainstream, you can't blame Audiotraffic for trying at least. I think they have a chance in Britain, so fingers crossed. Ondog 11:02, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One of the members, Adrian, was a well-known VJ on Channel V International for about 4 years. The band's performed on the channel at least once. That might make them notable... Mydemand 14:30, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They are certainly notable - they not only played in New Zealand (btw, that's where the Battle of the Bands final was as well), they've also been into China for gigs, I think they played in Malaysia, Adrian played a few places in Denmark on his own too (whether under the band's identity or just himself, I don't know). They get a lot of press and the indie rock scene in Hong Kong is on the up - they are regulars on 'The Underground' showcase. They also have a cataloged CD (it pops up in Amazon searches) under their old name Cry. Oh, also I've completely rewritten the article. It was a bit of a mess before and I've added/updated a few bits. Hope it looks better now! Doctor Moley 14:43, 06 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The two links under Fansites (MyDemand's biography of Adrian Da Silva) and (MyDemand's 'About Audiotraffic' page) don't work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.82.83.157 (talk) 09:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
