Poor production control[edit]

The German uniforms looked like something out of Central Casting from 1942 rather than 1955. The German national insignia (eagle w/wreath) were about twice the size of actual worn insignia -- they look cartoonish.

The two Germans from the basement were an odd matchup, although such could happen in war: the SS Captain was with a regular German Army enlisted man (the old guy) . . . an SS Captain would have had an SS driver. Again, this could be on purpose, or simply a result of more sloppy uniform research.

BTW: Peter Van Eyck, who plays the SS Captain was a real life US Army Captain in WW2. Jack Palance was an enlisted man in the US Army Air Force in WW2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.14.242.44 (talk) 09:53, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
