Character's job?[edit]

The article stated that the singer intended to take a job as a hitman upon arriving in Atlantic City. I think this is reading more into the lyrics than Springsteen wrote. The song is about organized crime in general, and the singer seems about to go into that line of work, but his actual role is unspecified. I changed "as a hitman" to "in organized crime" (which itself is a bit of a stretch); if anyone wishes to change it back, pls provide an appropriate source such as a direct quote from Springsteen.

Cold Case[edit]

Is the reference to Cold Case really relevant, or necessary? I'm sure the song has been used in plenty of TV shows and similar in its time. At the very least it seems to be in the wrong place. 219.90.188.226 (talk) 11:49, 1 January 2009 (UTC) Patrick Bateman[reply]

Coast City[edit]

The song mentions Coast City, but on wikipedia there is only Coast City, with no disambiguation. Are we missing something here? 98.210.190.11 (talk) 00:32, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dead external links to Allmusic website – January 2011[edit]

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

History[edit]

As to no relation to movie of same name, I have a hard time believing this since, inter alia, the Susan Sarandon character in the movie refers to reincarnation as do Springsteen's lyrics. Did they both play off the same series of events? Who was screenwriter on the movie? Seems to be a lot of synchronicity here.
