Is the 'believe in Jesus because he died for your sins" example valid?

I think tentatively it is, because the argument is that believing in Jesus is the right thing to do because of his suffering. Regardless, it also may be important to consider that using a religious reference in a non-religious article may not be wise. I went ahead and returned it, but I think the editor who removed it may have been right and won't be at all offended if it gets removed again Tornado547 (talk) 02:35, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

As I understand it, the phrase is not intended to invoke pity at all; instead, it's tied to the idea of redemption. Even if it were, it's a weak example of an appeal to pity, and the three examples above adequately demonstrate this fallacy that this example is unnecessary.   Ganbaruby!  (talk to me) 06:51, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
