Judged by the sound of the guitars, the information about the guitar solo is probably wrong. The referenced unsigned blog does probably mix up the role of the bottle neck guitar played by Allman (mostly a lead part) with the guitar playing the actually solo (which is probably not played on bottle neck). See the comment in the referenced side, which make much more sense.
