The text has simply been lifted from the english language biography (from the French by Anne-Marie Driss)as it appears on Anuoar Brahem's offical website. Perhaps due credit should be given and the less said the better until something more original comes along. He certainly deserves better. The music speaks volumes and is truly inspired. Unfortunately it doesn't meet the WP:COPYVIO policy so the article has to be built without it. Anyone wanting to read Ms Driss's article can do so on Anouar Brahem's website. AllyD (talk) 17:36, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Differences in playing style of Brahem and Rabih Abou-Khalil[edit]

Somebody wrote: "In playing style, he is often compared to Rabih Abou-Khalil." I changed that today into "Along with oud virtuosos Rabih Abou-Khalil and Dhafer Youssef, he has helped establish the oud as an important instrument of Ethno jazz." - Anyone who knows the playing style of Brahem and Abou-Khalil will certainly realize that their styles are very different: Brahem playing in a slow, quiet and often sparse style, without quarter tones, and Abou-Khalil typically in a fast, more rhythmical and technically more demanding style, sometimes using quarter tones.
