Synthesis is Chiral?[edit]

The article states that the synthesis is racemic but isn't it just a matter of using the chiral precursor? Related papers show that their is no structural inversion. See Agami, Claude; Cheramy, Sandrine; Dechoux, Luc; Kadouri-Puchot, Catherine Synlett, 1999 , # 6 p. 727 - 728
