This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because <this is an organization with over 2,000 members and is very important in preserving political items>. — 88wblair (talk) 19:57, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The American Political Items Collectors (APIC) is one of the oldest continuously running hobby organizations in the country. A page about the organization and its history, should not violate any of Wikipedia's terms or conditions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.228.52.3 (talk) 21:13, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is a national organization that is concerned with preserving historical artifacts -- and removing fake artifacts from the marketplace -- teaching, writing articles about the political history of our nation, and educating the public, through buttons, badges, banners, china, clocks - you name it. We have been featured on CNN and in local news around the nation. APIC holds regional shows almost every weekend in the spring and fall, and a national convention every other year. — MelyssaF (talk) 21:59, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article should merit a stay of execution. I understand our need to regulate what does get listed in wiki, but I feel this article meets the notability requirements. "The scope of their activities is national or international in scale" they seek to preserve American political history (seems pretty nationally orientated) Information about the organization and its activities can be verified by multiple,[1] third-party, independent, reliable sources. This will take some time as more people contribute to the article. There are many articles in wiki that don't have any sources cited. The first random search I did came up with the American Federation of Musicians. It has no sources. I would say that if anything, this article needs more sources cited, not that it needs to be deleted. Emk4ever (talk) 08:06, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
