Dispute[edit]

The article contains a lot of unlikely information, which is difficult to verify. It needs additional references for its verification. The reference section need to be improved. Aditya^{(talk • contribs)} 17:02, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and misleading[edit]

It appears that this is not the real America Bangladesh University but one of several illegal operations using the name[1]. As such I believe that it isn't notable. The article with this namne should cover the "real" university, not one of its unauthorised copies. I propose to delete it and start over. Sjö (talk) 12:26, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I rewrote the article, using information from the University Grants Commission, which as far as I know is the only official information that's available online. UCG says that the address is 54/1 Progoti Sarani, Baridhara-Nodda, Dhaka-1212. Based on that information i found the website www.americabangladeshuniversity.edu.bd. Any other campus or university using the name America Bangladesh University operates illegaly, as I understand it.

The article has now been rewritten again by an editor with a conflict of interest to be about the campus or universit at Farmgate. I intend to revert the change unless there are clear and verifiable sources supporting the current version. Sjö (talk) 12:23, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To make it perfectly clear: The information added by user named as variations of Sarder Rahman is wrong. The ABU at Farmgate is explicitly named as unapproved by the Independent. The University Grants Committe gives a different address for the main campus. Sarder Rahman omits to mention that the University is closed. Finally, the university wasn't established by the Private University Act 1992, that's like saying Obama was elected by the American Constitution. Sjö (talk) 05:41, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
