Allium aflatuense syn. A. hollandicum / A. × hollandicum?[edit]

I have reverted the recent changes which quoted the RHS website as an authority for saying that Allium aflatuense and A. hollandicum are synonymous. Though by no means perfect, the RHS Plant Finder is the UK's most authoritative source of up-to-date botanical nomenclature, and reflects a wide consensus of botanical opinion at the time of each annual edition. The RHS website uses the same data. When they say "Allium aflatuense misapplied" is a synonym for Allium hollandicum it does not mean they are one and the same. It means it is often sold in mistake for Allium hollandicum (which no longer needs a × as it is now accepted as a species in its own right): that's why they say "misapplied". 'Purple Sensation' is a cultivar of Allium hollandicum and does not belong on this page. SiGarb | (Talk) 00:11, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
