Iran/Zionist conspiracy removed[edit]

In the style section there was formerly a link to his website detailing some conspiracy about how the Grand Ayatollah of Iran was actually a Zionist agent or what have you. While this kind of conspiratorial BS is definitely in poor taste, the part of his website linked to was a section for user-submitted content. Many posts in that area feature wild anti-Zionist/anti-Iranian conspiracy theories that remain lamentably popular in much of the Arab world. None of them are written by Ali Farzat himself, nor does he appear to comment on them or police the area in any way.

I suppose the fact that he doesn't actively root out and delete that tripe on a website that bears his name does same something about, at the very least, his apathy towards it all, but I don't think it's relevant enough to be featured on his WP page -- and if it must be featured, it most certainly shouldn't imply (as the now-removed text did) that he actually displayed some sort of support for it beyond running a website that allows user commentary. Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought[edit]

Why no mention of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought? 203.51.105.164 (talk) 02:12, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's mentioned in awards section and tagged appropriately. But you are correct, it should be in the body of the article as well. I am going to add it.Cosainsé (talk) 06:01, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

What is the correct spelling of Ali's name? I seem to find more instances when it is spelled Ferzat, not Farzat. For example: TIME 100 list http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2111975_2111976_2111941,00.html Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/25/syria-cartoonist-ali-ferzat-beaten Cartoonists http://www.cartooningforpeace.org/en/le-prix-de-la-liberte-ali-farzat-prix-sakharov-2011/ Cosainsé (talk) 05:59, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it seems to be Ferzat. I propose to move the article. --FocalPoint (talk) 17:15, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
