The article's lead and infobox state a birth date of May 26, 1886, yet the "Early life" section states: "Jolson did not know his date of birth, as birth records were not kept at that time in that region, and he gave his birth year as 1885." While Find a Grave, IMDb, and other user-generated sources list a birth date May 26, 1886, do we have any reliable sources that explicitly confirm this? Looking a the article further, 1885 appears in earlier records, 1886 appears later. It seems more likely that he shaved a year off his age. I am slightly cautious about whether his family would have been unsure about his age, e.g. when did he celebrate his bar mitzvah? PatGallacher (talk) 19:58, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
