Is the term airbox reserved for motorcycles?[edit]

What is the difference between an airbox and an intake manifold? ThanksPieter1963 (talk) 16:12, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Despite this being a motorcycle stub airboxes are found on most combustion engines, as stated in the opening line to the article. This includes motorcycles, cars, and airplanes. The airbox supplies air to the manifold, whereas the manifold bolts up to the engine. An example of a combustion engine without an airbox would be a large rocket engine where fuel and oxidizer are supplied by gas generator that is itself fueled by a hypergolic reaction, obviating the need to supply air to the engine. 73.145.175.54 (talk) 06:19, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
