Future status[edit]

Should this article should be merged into LSI, or kept as a record of the company. As a former spinoff of AT&T/Lucent, it's probably notable enough to remain as an article. See, appropriately enough, Lucent Technologies (old company). Simon12 01:27, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

I worked for Agere Systems in the early 2000s. This is the first time I have learned that the name is pronounced with a "hard g". At my workplace, we referred to it as Agere, pronouncing the "g" as you would in "again". I'm not saying that the current text on pronunciation is wrong, but it is not cited. I can't edit based on my personal experience as an Agere employee because that would be independent research. I may add the "citation needed" tag to this one.
