5th Youngest ever[edit]

As discussed on the edit summaries, the issue of whether Lewis being the 5th youngest winner of a world title has been discussed. If it was significant then surely there will be a similar description on Mark Webster's page saying he is the fourth youngest (there isn't), in addition we would also list the 5th oldest winner, 4th oldest, 3rd oldest and so on and we don't because no-one really cares. We also don't list the 5th youngest World Snooker Champion (of 23 World Champions). It might SEEM significant now that Lewis is the fifth youngest - but that is WP:recentism, as in the overall context of the article in the next few years it isn't that important and shouldn't be included.

I think Keith Deller's article is also wrong saying that he was the youngest ever winner - when Bristow was only 22 so there is some real work to do on getting these age records right on the darts players.

Version 1[edit]

Before that year, only four different players had won the PDC version of the World Championship, and all of them were former winners of the rival British Darts Organisation's version of the World Championship. Lewis playing Anderson in the final ensured the streak would be broken, and Lewis's run to the final was also the first time in PDC history that a player had reached the World Championship final having never played full-time on the BDO circuit. In addition, at 25 years old Lewis became the fifth youngest player to win a World Championship, behind Jelle Klaasen (21 in 2006), Eric Bristow (22 in 1980), Keith Deller (23 in 1983), and Mark Webster (24 in 2008), as well as the youngest ever PDC World Champion.

Version 2[edit]

At the age of 25, he became the youngest winner of the PDC version of the World Championship (although there have been younger winners of the BDO version). Since the split in darts in the early 90s, Lewis became the first player to win the PDC World Championship without having previously won the BDO version, or even competed full-time on their circuit.

If you want to stick with version 1 then fine, but version 2 is more succinct and an in a better overall context. I'll not edit the article again until it settles down following his WC win. Mfb72 (talk) 20:09, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thinks think that Version 2 is the more succinct we don't really need to know on Adrian Lewis' profile who the other four are just the fact that he's the fifth. Joesayers (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:35, 6 January 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Peformance timeline[edit]

How come there is an "A" in the 2009 US Open instead of a "DNP"?Perfectamundo (talk) 23:35, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
