On Narendra Modi[edit]

I just deleted the name of Narendra Modi which was inserted by someone as a name in APCO's clients list. New "Controversy Section[edit]

Plagiarized material put back in[edit]

By overturning my edits here, users 67.43.136.47, 64.7.147.11, and 64.7.151.171 have all reinserted plagiarized material into this entry. This material is an unattributed direct quote from a mass email from Michael Moore of 11/19/2010: "The law firm Arnold & Porter is best known for its years of representing the giant tobacco conglomerate Philip Morris. APCO set up fake "grassroots" organizations around the country to do the bidding of Big Tobacco. All of a sudden, "normal, everyday, in-no-way-employed-by-Philip Morris Americans" were popping up everywhere. And it turned out they were outraged -- outraged! -- by exactly the things APCO's clients hated (such as, the government telling tobacco companies what to do). In particular, they were "furious" that regular people had the right to sue big corporations...you know, like Philip Morris." One Israel and 1Malaysia[edit]

This section makes no sense to me. There seems to be a lot of missing context. Would someone familiar with it please expand it for people unfamiliar with either One Israel or 1Malaysia? Thanks. Kaldari (talk) 22:24, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this section just now for several reasons. First, the purpose of adding the language on 1Malaysia and Israel is clearly to make APCO look bad. This is not in and of itself sufficient justification for a delete but POV pushing is a factor to consider. Second, this is not just POV pushing, it is an attempt to lend credence to a bizarre conspiracy theory (Stated in the text itself. I think you can admit it is pretty bizarre.) used to attack Prime Minister Najib in Malaysia. I think this section was originally added by Roman888 (a banned user) or one of his socks. I honestly can't quite recall the details. Even one sentence in the APCO article is undue weight. Third, if this material belongs in Wikipedia it should probably be in the article on 1Malaysia or on Anwar Ibrahim as the material actual is relevant to those topics. Let me know how you feel. Recent mass deletions[edit]

I have reverted the massive deletions of sourced content by User:Monkeyassault, as I think they have been insuffiently explained. For example, it seems a strange interpretation of NPOV to discard the view of Malaysia's opposition leader as "fringe" in favor of the government's view. I want to explain why I removed the final line of the text about TASCC. First, if you follow the link you will see that the source does not say this. The text I removed is merely the interpretation of the author. I think it is accurate interpretation but it is still nonetheless original research and is not allowed. Second, the line of text I removed is not even about APCO. It doesn't belong here.Monkeyassault (talk) 06:31, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Astroturfing[edit]

Astroturfing is a pejorative term. The only possible reason for adding this to the article is to imply that APCO is engaging in wrongdoing through astroturfing without having to provide a source.
