Dishonest terminology.[edit]

The consumer invariably sees "960H" presented as a resolution alternative to 720p. The intent is clearly to confuse consumers into thinking that this is a higher quality image then 720p, when in fact it is far lower. This is particularly egregious since the term "960H" was introduced to the market when 720p was already common and understood by consumers. Those doing research on the term will only find it compared to "D1" which is not a normal term for security cameras, and simply means 480i. (Or 576i in Europe.)
