Unit Designation[edit]

The article states the unit was redesignated as a Fighter Squadron shortly before inactivation in 1991. This has no supporting reference, and I believe it is inaccurate. Since the squadron was scheduled for inactivation shortly after the 48th Tac Ftr Wing dropped the "Tactical", it retained its designation until the bitter end.--Lineagegeek (talk) 20:02, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Text and/or other creative content from 495th Fighter Squadron was copied or moved into 495th Tactical Fighter Squadron on May 15, 2013. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.
