To PDF or not to PDF that is the question[edit]

I notice that for references we are posting PDF links versus the on-line web data. Both are readily available but one must be downloaded onto the viewer's computer whereas the other is simply viewable as well as links to further data that could be of use to the reader as well. So my point and question is does it not make more sense to use the referenced web data versus the required downloadable PDF? Krazytea(talk) 05:53, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
