"Seedings"[edit]

The problem is that these letter/number combinations make no sense to readers since they're taken out of context. The "seeds" don't seem to make any sense without match numbers, and that's impossible to provide, so they seem like random numberings. If other contributors, like myself, want to help out, a problem arises in that the "seedings" are very confusing. I've been looking at this for a few minutes now, and I can't make heads or tails of most of it. I'm sure that any reader would not likely be able to figure this out without it taking a great deal of time. I would advocate that the "seeds" be removed to make everything simpler. It's really not that hard to follow when it is figured out. All of the seeding came directly from the official website. As for it not making sense to the readers, this is why I said once the competition is complete, the seeds can be removed. I found the draw tree digging through all of the German on the official website. They will not be posting a draw tree with results, only line scores. If the WTC does not post the results in a draw tree, how will anyone (other than myself) be able to edit this without knowing the seeding? The WCT has not posted results for this event in the past, and so far it doesn't look like they have intention of doing so. Sirrussellott (talk) 16:58, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Readers will be reading this article before and during the cup as well as after it, so that must be taken into consideration. The draw on the official website (which, by the way, I've linked) lists the competitors by match numbers, which can't be done using these team brackets. Without the match numbers, the numbers given are very confusing, taken out of context. There's a number of ways they could be interpreted. It's best to just leave it without the "seeds," as is, for now. As things get closer to the event, coverage will improve. For the WCT, they usually put up teams and draws around the week before the event, so it's not unusual that everything is blank right now. You also need to consider that the WCT website was hacked last year, and so they've lost many of their archived results, which would explain why there seems to be no coverage for previous events. If you check on some events with information under the "champions" section and click on a link that goes before 2010, there will be no information there, because it's been wiped by the hacking. In the case of the Bernese Ladies Cup, the WCT did cover previous years, and has a record of last year's event, but it's not linked to this year's event page, likely because of the cyber attack last year. Fine, I can read the seed numbers no problem, have all the seeding in front of me and wont have problems editing from my end with only line scores. Sirrussellott (talk) 18:34, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean, but I think the WCT site will be updated by the time the tournament starts, so it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, let me know how I can help! Prayerfortheworld (talk) 20:04, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
