Baseball assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:2007 Minnesota Twins season/Comments (baseball), and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

The Twins scored the most runs by one team in a doubleheader since the Boston Red Sox totaled 35 in a sweep of the Philadelphia Athletics on July 4, 1939.[2]

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, these 2 games do not count as a doubleheader for the sake of history books. [1]

I think the above statement is misleading, considering the MLB would not consider that a true doubleheader, and not eligible to be compared with the Red Sox sweep, (if that was even a true doubleheader itself.)

Any thoughts?
