Home Games? In the Washington - Pittsburgh series, Washington had the higher seed and home ice advantage. However, the article says that Pittsburgh played game 2 at home, which seems to clash with that notion. Normally, it would be Washington, Washington, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Washington for these five games. Is it true that game 2 was played in Pittsburgh (and if so, why?) or is this a mistake? 164.10.46.61 (talk) 12:33, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a mistake. That series was scheduled as a 1-2-2-1-1 series due to an arena conflict in Pittsburgh (although ultimately the event that caused the conflict was called off, making the format all the more galling to us Caps fans). The NHL really screwed the Caps over on that one since it made "home ice" utterly meaningless. I can cite you to the page of the Caps' media guide that shows the schedule for that series if you want, although it doesn't mention the reason for the odd format. 1995hoo (talk) 18:00, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
