Gone With The Wind[edit]

This was the actual top grossing film of 1941 because this was the year it went into general release and by one estimate sold 60 million tickets. It gets listed as a 1939 because that's when it premiered, but for entirety of 1940 it was presented in roadshow version only so only a few thousand each week saw it.
