Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I will use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Lede[edit]

  • The 1921–22 season was the 21st season of competitive football played by Cardiff City and - Cardiff City F.C. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • top tier - highest tier. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • 31 players made at least one appearance for the club during the campaign - starting a sentence with a number feels weird to me. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Average attendence isn't mentioned in the lead, but lowest and highest only? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]

Background and preseason[edit]

First Division[edit]

  • The game therefore became the first top tier match in English football to be played in Wales - therefore is a bit weird to me. Just because there wasn't Welsh clubs, doesn't mean it wasn't possible for matches to have been held in Wales previously. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:48, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think its reasonable to assume that as the first Welsh club to reach that level, the match would consequently be the first to be held in Wales. In the 100-year history of the Football League, I don't believe an English club has ever played a home match outside the country. Kosack (talk) 07:40, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
During the era, The Times simply listed "our football correspondent" as the author of the articles. Kosack (talk) 07:40, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • stepped in and became the oldest player in the club's history at 41 years old. - Is this still true? Is this just league? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:48, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the record still stands and is for all competitions. Kosack (talk) 07:40, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • does this section not mention the final position of the team/season results? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:48, 15 June 2019 (UTC) - Added[reply]

Cup matches[edit]

Player details[edit]

  • Two of the players, Ernie Anderson and James Melville would never play another match for Cardiff - did these players get released? retired? etc. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:59, 18 June 2019 (UTC) - Clarified[reply]
  • him out score his... - isn't it outscore. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:59, 18 June 2019 (UTC) - Fixed[reply]
  • Eleven players scored at least one goal during the course of the season and one opposition player scored an own goal - did cardiff score any own goals? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:59, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • rest is good Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:59, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The record books I have only state Cardiff's goalscorers, so I'm unsure of that I'm afraid. Kosack (talk) 12:17, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Automated note - If you fancy returning the favour, I have outstanding GA nominations that require reviewing at WP:GAN. I'd be very grateful if you were to complete one of these, however it's definately not manditory. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:17, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
