Stock List[edit]

I've updated the stock list based on the Czech page and the official wesite and it's obviously missing quite a few items. Does anybody have a definitive list? Railwayfan2005 (talk) 20:35, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I hate to disappoint you, but the list of exhibits in its current form is not permissible and technical details and complete photo documentation is overkill. According to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Museums/Guideline, it is recommended that only the most important exhibits (such as those that have their own page) be listed as examples. The format should then be a paragraph of prose, or short list (without that technical details, etc., like "Některé exponáty" section on cswiki). So I'm asking you to fix it, so that I don't have to take it upon myself. Thank you for understanding. FromCzech (talk) 05:22, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had a look at the Kentucky Railway Museum page cited as a good article and this has a list of the locomotives in their collection. This is aided by a reference to the listing on their website, which is the thing we don't have. The headings on the Kentucky Railway Museum tables are Locomotive, Manufacturer, Build Date, Wheel Arrangement, Model, Status, Notes. These match well with the columns I've added, although Other number(s), Works number and Gauge seem to be extras not needed in Kentucky. Given that we have millions of images on Commons provided for use here it seem churlish not to illustrate the article. In short, I can't see any reason to remove what I've added, and more reason to complete the empty boxes. I don't have the Czech language skills to add much more than filling the boxes in. KRM is a delisted good article, but that's beside the point now. Picking one case that suits you doesn't change what it should look like and what the WikiProject Museums says. Btw KRM only have 16 locomotives, so with such a low number it would be illogical to choose the top 10 and not list the rest. And rail cars already are in the form of prose (and are listed only those exhibits that have a wikilink). And as for the pictures, there is no need to illustrate every exhibit, just examples are enough (see KRM). FromCzech (talk) 05:22, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
